Mobile robots rated IP65 or better with a payload of 500 kg or more

Asked as: “Outdoor yard logistics in the rain: any mobile robot that is IP65 or better and carries 500 kg or more?”

Answered by the Rapidflare agent

I couldn't find any mobile robot in the catalog that meets both requirements — IP65 or better and a rated payload of 500 kg or more. Zero products matched when I filtered across all robot families with both constraints applied together.

Here's what I did verify, so you can see where the gap is:

  • Mobile Robots (AMRs/AGVs group): Several robots meet the payload requirement — rated payloads of 500 kg, 1200 kg, and 1600 kg exist in this group. However, the IP ratings actually listed there are IP44, IP52, IP21, and one IP65 — and the single IP65-rated robot in that group carries less than 500 kg. So within this group, the payload-qualified robots are only IP44/IP52/IP21, not rain-ready.
  • Field & Outdoor Robots (the rugged outdoor UGV group): This is the opposite situation — two robots there are rated IP54/IP66 (one IP66 qualifies for your requirement), but the highest rated payload in that entire group is 120 kg, well below your 500 kg floor.

One caveat: a large share of catalog products have no IP rating value listed at all. If a product's IP rating is blank, I can't verify it meets IP65 — it may or may not, and I won't assume it does.

Bottom line: in the current catalog there is no mobile robot that is verified IP65-or-better and carries ≥500 kg. If you can trade off one of the two constraints, the realistic directions are:

  1. Keep the 500 kg+ payload, relax the IP rating — the 500/1200/1600 kg-class AMRs would then be candidates, though they'd need weatherproofing measures for rain exposure.
  2. Keep IP65, relax the payload — the IP66-rated outdoor field robot is verified for rain, but tops out around 120 kg.

If you'd like, tell me which constraint you can flex and I'll pull the exact product details for that direction.
